At Renance, your financial data is exactly that — yours. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and handle your information when you use our AI-first finance platform.
By using Renance, you agree to the practices described below. If you don't agree, please discontinue use of the platform.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, company name, and billing details. This is the minimum we need to create and maintain your account.
Financial Data To deliver AI-powered insights, Renance processes financial data you connect or upload — including transaction records, revenue figures, expense categories, and account balances. We never sell this data. Ever.
Usage Data We automatically collect information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited, features used, timestamps, device type, browser, IP address, and referring URLs. This helps us improve the product.
Cookies & Tracking Renance uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We use analytics cookies only with your consent. You can manage cookie preferences at any time from your account settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect to:
Provide, operate, and maintain the Renance platform
Generate AI-driven financial insights, risk alerts, and recommendations
Process payments and manage your subscription
Send transactional emails (receipts, security alerts, product updates)
Improve platform performance, reliability, and user experience
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your financial data to train general-purpose AI models. Your data is used exclusively to generate insights for your account.
3. How We Share Your Information
Renance does not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial information. We share data only in the following cases:
Service Providers — We work with trusted third parties for payment processing (Stripe), cloud infrastructure (AWS), and email delivery (Postmark). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
Legal Requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Renance, our users, or the public.
Business Transfers — In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Security
We take security seriously. Renance uses AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, and SOC 2 Type II compliant infrastructure. Access to production systems is restricted, logged, and reviewed regularly. We conduct annual third-party penetration testing and maintain a responsible disclosure program.
No system is 100% secure. If a breach occurs that affects your data, we will notify you within 72 hours in accordance with applicable regulations.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and financial data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal and financial data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., tax and billing records may be retained for up to 7 years).
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access, correct, or delete your personal data
Export your data in a machine-readable format
Withdraw consent for optional data processing
Opt out of marketing communications
Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

7. International Transfers
Renance is based in the United States. If you access the platform from outside the U.S., your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We use Standard Contractual Clauses and other safeguards to ensure your data is protected in accordance with applicable law.
8. Children's Privacy
Renance is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and notify you via email or in-app notification for material changes.
